The event explored the impact food labels have on consumer choice and how nutritional labelling in the future could help consumers to make healthier food choices.
Dr Rachel Crockett from the University of Stirling presented results for the recent Cochrane Systematic Review on nutritional labelling. Dr Crockett discussed how this could be effective if used with a range of other population interventions.
Dr Inez Baily from the National Adult Literacy Agency (NALA) explored Irish health literacy policy and practice. Dr Baily's presentation also included practical tools that we can all use to support people with both health literacy and numeracy needs. Dr Baily's presentation is available to download.
Dr Mary Flynn from the Food Safety Authority of Ireland discussed how we could use food labelling to make healthier choices.
Dr Michel Chauliac from the Ministry of Solidarities and Health France shared insights from their new front-of pack labelling system: Nutri-Score. Dr Chauliac's presentation is available to download.
